Calling All New Umpires

If you are passionate about the game of baseball or softball and turn the age of 13 by April 30, 2016, then you are invited to a meeting at East Grand Rapids High School's gym on Saturday, March 26th, at approximately 2:30pm -- and immediately following the Boys Juniors' tryout/evaluation. This meeting will last about 30 minutes and will give you the opportunity to learn more about how to become a new umpire at Southern Little League for the upcoming season.

Jack Conway, Southern's Umpire Director, will host this meeting and address several topics including training dates, sign-up dates, pay scale, etc. This is an excellent opportunity for you to earn some money this spring, take on the responsibility of running a baseball game, interact with players and coaches, and enhance your future college application or job resume by becoming an umpire.

If you have umped before you don’t have to come to this meeting as Mr. Conway will be reaching out to last year’s umps. Also, take note of Mr. Conway’s new cell phone number of 616-916-4911.
