Southern Seniors Baseball All-Stars Finish in the Region

On Wednesday evening Southern's Seniors Baseball All-Stars played Wisconsin in the regional semifinals. After trailing 4-2 much of the game the team rallied for 5 runs in the top of the 7th inning for an exciting comeback win. That win advanced the team to the finals at 7:30pm Wednesday night against Illinois. Illinois jumped out to an early 5-1 lead. Southern cut that lead to 5-3 and put the pressure on Illinois. In the end Illinois rallied for a couple more and a 7-3 victory.

The Southern Seniors Baseball All-Stars had a great tournament run. A district championship, a sectional championship, a state championship and 2nd place in the 9 state regional tournament. The players, coaches, and families represented Southern in high fashion and were great ambassadors. The only all Southern all-star team to make it further was the 1976 Seniors All-Star team. The 2002 Seniors made it to the regionals also. It takes a special group to accomplish what this group did, and everyone involved with Southern is very proud of all of you.

Congratulations on a great run!!!
