Hello Southern Families,
Starting July 24 and running through July 30, Southern Little League will be hosting the 9-10-Year-Old and Senior League state baseball tournaments. This is a huge honor as Southern was chosen out of the 28 leagues in District 9, and District 9 only hosts these tournaments once every 16 years. This will be a great experience for the teams participating and for the volunteers running the tournament. There are a total of 24 teams coming to Southern Little League to participate in these tournaments, and the committee has planned for an exciting opening ceremony on July 25 at 6:00pm as well as a Family Day atmosphere throughout the tournaments. Also look for souvenirs and pins at the souvenir tent. As you can imagine we will need many volunteers to make this a really special tournament for all of the teams participating.
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
Very soon you will see an announcement requesting tournament volunteers. Whether it is for the concession stand, the souvenir tent, or the outside food sales, we need your help! Doreen Lambert is the head of the volunteer committee. Please sign up as soon as you see the announcement come out so it makes Doreen’s job easier. You will also see a separate announcement requesting grilling volunteers, and Nick Stadel would appreciate your prompt response in signing up for that. In most cases we are asking for 1.5 hour shifts and sometimes 2 hours. Please volunteer and show the rest of the state why Southern Little League is so great!
Thank You,
Joe Mead
