Aluminum/alloy and composite bats shall be marked as to their material makeup being aluminum/alloy or composite. Calling All Umpires!

If you are passionate about the game of baseball or softball will be playing juniors level baseball/softball or higher, this year then you are invited to a meeting at East Grand Rapids High School's gym on Saturday, March 24th, at 2:00pm, or immediately after the juniors evaluation ends – so don’t be late. This meeting will last about 15 minutes to collect your name and number and cover a few topics.

Jack Conway, Southern's Umpire Director, will host this meeting and address several topics including mandatory training dates, how to sign-up for games, pay scale, etc. This is an excellent opportunity for you to earn a little money this spring, get a unique SLL umpire hat/shirt, take on the responsibility of umping a baseball game, and enhance your future college/job applications by becoming an umpire.
If you have umped before you don’t have to come to this meeting as Mr. Conway will be reaching out to last year’s umps. Also, take note of Mr. Conway’s cell phone number of 616-916-4911.

Still a Few Openings

Our registration deadline has passed, but we still have openings for all ages in baseball and coach pitch and juniors in softball. You can still sign up on line. If you have any questions, you can email Bob Hams at bhams@roofmelt.com. The $25 late fee will be charged. All signups now are first come first serve.

Those wanting to sign up for seniors baseball and seniors softball should now wait until after March 24 to sign up. We'll send out another announcement reminding you of your later deadline.
